What we need is a famine....

It's funny to see how the extent of Irish revolt at the Government's rape of this country is confined to polite letters in newspapers. And blog posts. Once the bellies are full, or halfway there, there is little appetite for rebellion.
There's a pleasant song in the much underrated movie "Cannibal! The Musical" called "Hang the Bastard! (Hang Him High!)". Surely a theme song for the revolution that can be modified to the plural? (We can all think of a few names to add to the lyrics.)
And thinking of "Cannibal"...shouldn't our representatives be good for something? Like perhaps keeping those bellies filled and the revolution quelled? A modest proposal, I think.
